5 Ways to Beat the Winter Blues

Posted by Anida Leeds on

By now most of us have had enough with winter. The cold weather, the snow and the shorter days can make the most die-hard snow bunnies beg for summer. With less than 40 days till the first day of spring, it's time for some tips to get through the end of winter and embrace the coming of spring.

5 Ways to Beat the Winter Blues - Valentines Day with more sex.

5. Embrace the Season
If your not looking at palm trees on a daily basis you are probably like me and hiding in your house right now. Instead of always avoiding the cold and the snow, look for the best that it has to offer! Take up a winter sport like ice skating, snowboarding, hockey, or even sledding! Go outside and have a snowball fight as if you were a kid again. Watch the sun rise or sun set, they are just as beautiful as summer but are sometimes easier to catch with the shorter days. Enjoy these opportunities while they last, they're only here a few months per year. Staying active will boost your energy and help to keep your spirits high.

4. Exercise
As if we needed another reason to get fit! Exercise isn't only for maintaining your weight and staying healthy, it's great for relieving the stresses of life. It will help increase your libido and even make your sex life better. The effects of a good workout can last for several hours after you hit the showers. You'll have more energy throughout the day, and your metabolism with stay elevated too. Exercise also helps your mind by releasing endorphins "same release as an orgasm" that improve your mood.

3. Get Some Sun
Most people know that sunlight provides us with Vitamin D, but did you know that it also improves your mood? Winter days are shorter and darker than other months, and because of the cold weather, a lot of people spend less and less time outdoors. Lack of sunlight can cause many people to become depressed, without knowing why! Similar to exercise, sunlight exposure releases neurotransmitters in the brain that affect mood. Try to spend a little more time outdoors. Keep your shades up during the day to let more light in. Sit near windows in restaurants and if your lucky enough at work.

2. Relax
You're busy! Work, class, family, friends, appointments, meetings, everyone needs some time off. Try to spend a few minutes each day doing nothing! Read a book or magazine, sleep in on the weekend, go to bed early and masturbate, try some meditations, or take a yoga class. Relaxation, especially in the form of yoga, can alleviate stress and leave you with a calm energy. Mental exercises like meditation and positive thinking can help keep depression at bay.

1. Have More Sex
Winter is a perfect time to snuggle up with that special someone and warm each other up. One of the best parts of winter is when your in bed and it feels so comfy under the covers. Why not bring that comfy feeling to the next level and explore each other sexually. Get some new adult toys and never complain about winter again.
